Successful Release

Wow. BlenderPeople0.8 release has been a success, as much as an unfinished GPL script suite can be a success.

Someone noticed it and put it to the front page on CGTalk, which was very cool, and I've gotten a lot of very nice and ethusiatic responses. The BlenderPeople websites (RSS feed, blog, and main page), which usually serve about 12,000 pages in a month, served almost 10,000 just on the release day.

Have been trying out BlenderPeople on an OpenSolaris system and it works well. I have however found an problem, and it may also effect Linux as it is also a UNIX environment.

The MYSQL database is case sensitive, and so at times the code will complain about not finding the table, as you have not been consistant with the case of the tables.

I have workaround this by starting the mysql database up with lower_case_table_names=1 as an option. However this not a nice solution (I like case sensitivity), and may not be possible for some of your users.

I hope this is a useful bug report.

Cheers

David
